Hey you. I thought about you today. I feel so bad about how things played out between us so I figured I'd explain myself. Better late than never right?

I was being a bad boy that day. I didn't tell you I had a boyfriend I was madly in love with. I'd been with him, Brad, for almost 3 years when I met you. I was happy in the relationship, but I was afraid that I had become committed too early. I guess I wanted to make sure I wasn't settling down too fast. I met you that day and I had a great time. I'll never forget you were one of the first people that understood my vision when I explained it. I remember I moved you to tears with that a post of mine. I thought you were awesome. I still do actually.

I don't know if you noticed, but I got pretty quiet on the ride home that night we hung out. I had received a strange text from Braddlee as we were driving. I started thinking about the email conversation you and I were having. I couldn't remember whether or not I had closed the window on the computer. I could sense that I left it open, and Braddlee's strange text confirmed it. All I wanted to do was apologize to Braddlee for what I had done.

I completely shut down from talking to daddies after that. Being given the opportunity for Braddlee to take me back after I broke his heart meant too much to lose. We remain great friends to this day, but him and I aren't together anymore. We agreed that a long distance relationship was not good for either of us.

I should have hit you up and let you know about my situation, but I was too ashamed. It's fucked up because you were a good friend. You and I would probably be great friends to this day had we stayed in contact. I hope you read this letter and consider my offer to hang out sometime maybe grab a coffee or something. It'd be fun to catch up. Leave a comment and I'll send you my email address.

Have you ever found yourself stuck in between what you want to do, and what your family wants you to do? Sometimes you gotta just say fuck it and do what you want. It's your life, live it to the fullest. I was pretty smooth at what I did growing up, so I didn't get into trouble much (an arrest here, an arrest there, nothing major.)

We evolve every second of everyday.

Hip Hop Music as of today, January 22, 2009 is so fucking sad. Kanye's rapping again (Thank You!!!!!), but he needs to either braid or cut his Michael Jackson in the 80's hair. I love the dude tho. Shit, I still loved Diddy when had the mohawk.

Anyways,
I think on September 11, 2001 Hip Hop suffered a heart attack. Jay-Z dropped Kanye's Blueprint album, and Fabolous hit the streets for the first time that day. There were both good and bad songs while President Bush was in office, but a lot of the songs were garbage. Guess what? Bush is out of office. It's time for a change.

Here's a Possible Solution....

INTEGRATE Hip Hop. (Shout out to Jackie Chain & Equpito)

Integrate doesn't mean Rappers become Pop stars (Kanye) or Rock stars (Weezy Wee)
It mean's allowing rappers, of any race, a fair chance at breaking through into mainstream.

A Rapper should be respected for being on their grind regardless of anything.

It shouldnt be so wierd that a Rapper, of any race, went platinum.

There should be more female Rappers of any race on the scene.

I understand Hip Hop was created by brothers, but we didn't create the President of the United States and now we got one.

No I don't mean it physically. I know that will never happen.

Anyways with my 21st birthday around the corner, I think its about time I start to get serious about life. Well not too serious because that would be wasting time like writing in this blog (just kidding :-)

I think I should set some real goals, instead of it being to just have fun everyday (which I manage to do pretty well.)

I want to be successful (who doesn't right.)

By the time I turn 30 I want to be able to spend;
6 months on the West Coast (L.A., Frisco, and San Diego),
3 months on the East Coast (Mostly N.Y.C but Boston when I get home sick)
and 3 months wherever I want to go around the world.

I want to be able to do this every year until I die. There are more goals, but this is the first one that's clear.

Wish me luck, and I wish everyone that reads this (all 3 of you) nothing but success.

I'm going to start this off by saying that Clint Eastwood is the fucking man. His new movie Gran Torino is a piece of work. It was very uncomfortable to watch. The movie itself was good, but the audience was scary. If anybody goes to see it, make note of the racist jokes that get big laughs. We got a long way to go people.

Also, what the hell is up with Bee Vang's performance in the movie?? Go to acting school homie, this is the big leagues.

Here's a letter I wrote to E.G.M. last month, hoping to get it published (Gotta get recognized somewhere lol):

Not only did I have to wait an extra 15 days for my EGM to show up, but I sit on the toilet and begin to read Ryan's review of Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts. It smelled worse than what I was doing. Sorry Ryan, but the Xbox 360 is marketed as a high definition gaming experience. Basing your whole review off of the fact that it looked horrible on your standard def television is entirely your fault. If you don't want to be apart of the "minority" of gamers who own HDTV's, then you should only be reviewing games made for the system owned by the "majority" of gamers today which is the Nintendo Wii. This makes me question this magazines credibility when I read reviews about a games graphics. Allowing wannabe hardcore gamers to review video games is not your style EGM. What's going on?

... Funny part about the game is I played it, and I thought it sucked lol

Ain't that a bitch. I just renewed my subscription to Electronic Gaming Monthly two months ago, and I find out that they are shutting down after this months issue hits stores.

I'm not really surprised.

I noticed that the magazine had been becoming more and more mainstream every month. Just look at the past 2 magazine covers.

December 2008 --------------------------------------- January 2009

Both covers have been about video game versions of upcoming Hollywood blockbusters, which everyone knows usually suck. I didn't know I subscribed to Entertainment Weekly. Another beef I had with them is their reviews, but i'll save that for another post.

With that said...

Ok, so the Platinum in a Week Campaign didn't work, and the album sits at #47 on the Billboard 200 this week with total sales at close to 80,000 units. Keep your head up Soulja Boy. The internet has never seen anything like you. I remember the summer of 2006 when I heard the song about Bathing Apes. Who woulda thought a year later you'd have the world doin your dance. Besides, the decrease from your first week wasn't as bad as Keyshia Cole's new album.

Top 5 Games of 2008 - #4 Gears of War 2

At first I thought Gears of War 2 would be just another rehash that Microsoft would release to sell millions of units. I pictured a shitload of people waiting outside of Toys R Us in New York to buy the game at midnight, and Bill Gates standing at the register at Best Buy selling copies of this game but nope.

With that said, not much has changed this time around for Marcus Fenix and his squad, but it really doesn't matter. The graphics are great, the game is intense, and the characters are cool as hell (Shout out to the Cole Train.) The part inside of the worm was hot and the gun fights are amazing. The game doesn't stack up to other games when it comes to online play, but its still impressive. I would say that this game easily takes Forza 2's spot as the reason to own an Xbox 360. Can't wait for the next one...

Top 5 Games of 2008 - #5 Saints Row 2

Obama 8 was a great year to be a gamer. American cars couldn't sell for shit but videogames sold like crack on the first of the month. I spent so much time sitting on my ass this year. Definitely a year well spent. Anyways, lets get into this countdown. So many great games came out this year, I narrowed it down to 5 games.

#5 - Saints Row 2

I might sound like a casual gamer for this choice but fuck that. Saints Row 2 proved itself to be its own videogame this time around, and not just the best Grand Theft Auto clone on the market. I remember wanting to play a Grand Theft Auto game before this year and going straight to the first Saints Row to scratch that itch. With Grand Theft Auto IV taking a more mature theme (cocaine and social relationships.) Saints Row 2 dared to improve on the formula from the older Grand Theft Auto games. Make a call and a car thats in your garage is delivered right to you. No auto aim. You can customize beyond belief. You create every feature of your character. It's not often that I get to play as a beautiful older man in a videogame (Snake and Sam Fisher dont count). The story wasn't bad, it took me about 20 hours to finish it. Your character has a personality and a lot of loose ends from the first one get tied up.

The top reason why this game ended up on my countdown was because this game got me off of that drug known as Grand Theft Auto IV. Saints Row 2 reminded me that I was playing a videogame and not living in a city. If it wasn't for this game I probably wouldn't have stopped playing GTA IV.. Well at least until Resident Evil 5 came out. GTA IV was heroin and Saints Row 2 was the methadone that got me off that shit. (I relapsed 5 days ago.. already played almost 20 hours)

Not that it's a bad album, but damn it's recurring theme of depression gets boring after a while. I remember last year when Graduation dropped. I was at a low point in my life, and that shit kept me inspired to stay in school for the semester. This shit makes me ask myself.

Seeing The Invincible Sounds of Summer Tour

N.E.R.D. came to Massachusetts for the third time this year today. We find them at the Orpheum Theater in Boston, 7 months to the day after they began this extensive tour in Northampton, and four and a half months after opening for Kanye West in Mansfield. They are now on the Seeing The Invincible Sounds of Summer Tour with Common and opening act Chester French. If you ever wanted to be in a room where your not the only person in an astronaut suit, this is the place to be (Astronaut suits by the BBC). They came on at about 8:30 with the mind blowing intro to the song "Anti-Matter' from their latest album "Seeing Sounds" in stores now. Thats when I came to notice that one of the members Chad (left in the picture above) was not there. It really didn't matter because N.E.R.D. accompanied by their band gave a great show.

The most notable songs of the night definitely had to be "Bobby James" and "Provider" both off of their debut album "In Search of..." also in stores now. Pharrell has an appreciation for college towns and personally thanked the college students. He also stated in his opening show of his tour that he chose Northampton Mass as the launch pad because it was a college town. Pharrell gave a shout out to one of the coolest stores in Boston which shall remain nameless. He also thanked the voters in the audience before giving a special shout out to soccer moms. Pharrell then got the audience engaged in an Obama chant before declaring his full support for Barack Obama.
With the country in weird shape it was great to let loose and enjoy the beautiful music of N.E.R.D. It's great to see someone who truly loves what he does. I've now made it a personal goal to meet Pharrell before I die. So if you ever read this Skaterboard P.. Holla, I'm a really big fan.

Hiding

- Hiding is definitely one of the key fundamentals for human survival. How could you be responsible if you weren't there? Word to the wise, don't reveal your hiding spots to anybody who doesn't already know they exist. Last thing you want is your hiding spot becoming the next hot spot. Oh, and come out of hiding every once in a while to show everyone your still breathing. You'd be surprised at how many hiding spots can be discovered while your visible.

Fenway Park...

It rained on the last weekend of the 2008 Regular Season for the Boston Red Sox. The rain definitely complements the weird vibe felt at Fenway Park ever since Manny Ramirez decided to chase the nice weather. The chill vibe has definitely left the ballpark, but its all good. Manny is still the living legend he's always been, and Fenway has the chance of feeling Manny's presence again before the end of the 2008 Season.

... There's only one problem.

The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim led by a gentleman known as Mr. Mike Scioscia. I'm a Red Sox fan, but I'm hoping to see the Angels face the Dodgers at the Fall Classic. The thought of Mike Scioscia covered in gatorade makes me smile :-), and if not then Manny laughs the hardest.... Sounds like a win, win situation to me. Sorry Tampa Bay.
